Forest Cleanup

Been working on this big project every year since 2000.
This 5-acre parcel of forest in central Oregon was an overcrowded, flammable mess of when I bought it. Every year, during the wintertime, I set up camp and spend a week thinning the overcrowd trees and clearing brush. The goal is to reduce the fuel load and transform the site into a healthy parcel of forestland.

Barn Building in Minnesota

Kris Sahlstrom and I drove to northern Minnesota and spent two weeks building a new pole barn on the farm where he grew up.

The new barn is out in a field, about a half-mile from the farmhouse. This is "the land of Swedes, swamps and rocks" -- notorious for horrible farming conditions.

It was a fantastic summer vacation! Here are a few pictures ...
